Out in the Park 2010

Hampton Roads Pride will host the 22nd annual "Out in the Park" GLBT Pride festival Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Chesapeake City Park.

This year’s festival will include our featured hostess for over 20 years, Diana Ross; with musical performances from live bands, local male and female impersonators, and other local performers. There will be over 60 vendors including local businesses and non profits, with large and small food vendors providing a carnival-like atmosphere. Last year’s event was our largest event, attended by over 7000 people. The Beer Garden will make its return this year, with its larger area and more tables and seating. Additionally, the continuation of the Hampton Roads Pride GLBT History Project, a durable visual and audio display of the history of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in Hampton Roads. Volunteers are still needed for this project as well as anyone with historical information or artifacts. For more information on our history project, please contact Patrick Bradley at claypaw@yahoo.com. The HRP GLBT History Project will be displayed in a large exhibit tent within the vendor area. The organization is also seeking sponsors for the event and all donations are tax deductible. Potential sponsors may choose to sponsor and present a particular musical act or performer for the event. Reservations for vendor spaces are being taken currently. As always, we are looking for more volunteers to work with Hampton Roads Pride to make this year’s event the largest event in the Commonwealth of Virginia. To learn how to volunteer, contact Joy Reed at vicepresident@hamptonroadspride.net or James Parker at president@hamptonroadspride.net.
